Dr. Thomas Tromm studied materials science with a focus on surface technology at the RWTH Aachen University. He then did his doctorate in physics at the Peter Grünberg Institute of the Forschungszentrum Jülich in the field of semiconductor nanoelectronics using ternary rare earth oxides and ferroelectric HfO2 as gate dielectrics.

He began his training as a patent attorney in 2018 in a Düsseldorf patent law firm with further training at the Düsseldorf Higher Regional Court, the German Patent and Trademark Office and the Federal Patent Court and studied law at the Fernuniversität Hagen.

Since 2022, Dr. Tromm is a member of the team of the Düsseldorf office of König Szynka Tilmann von Renesse. Today Dr. Tromm advises national and international companies in patent granting procedures, especially in the fields of physics and mechanical engineering.
