Dr. Tobias Smorodin studied physics at the LMU in Munich and the University of Nottingham, he received a scholarship of the Hanns-Seidel foundation for his PhD research which he did with Infineon Technologies AG. His work in the field of automobile electronics was awarded by the Employers’ Association of the Metal and Electrical Industry (Südwestmetall) and led to various patent applications and registrations. Before starting as a patent attorney candidate in our Munich Office, he worked as a development engineer at Infineon Technologies AG.

Tobias Smorodin has been active in the field of intellectual property since 2009 and today his focus is on advising medium and large-size companies in patent matters, in particular in European and international granting procedures, in opposition procedures, in preparing expert opinions and FTO analyses and in patent infringement law. He has technical experience in the field of electronics, illumination technology, surface technology, mechanical engineering and building technology. He also represents clients in the trademark and design field.
